Priceless: A Rylee Adamson Novel
Priceless: A Rylee Adamson Novel |
Priceless: A Rylee Adamson Novel Posted: Have you ever made a big Thanksgiving dinner (bear with me... I'm working towards a point, here)? You end up cooking for days- the pies, the turkey, the stuffing, the sides, appetizers, and it is exhausting to put on this beautiful spread that you have made and are proud of. What do you get for all of your work? The sounds of chomping and smacking and groaning for about 20 minutes as all of your hard work is devoured in FAR less time than it took to make, then wide eyes looking at you asking what you are making for Christmas dinner! Because I have been through that, I can appreciate how Ms. Mayer must feel when after all her hard work I devour this book in a single night (cause, really- who needs sleep?)and have the nerve to ask "So, when's the next one? It's almost ready, right?" Believe me... you will be, too. Rylee has a special gift, and she uses it to find lost children. Kids that the police and FBI can't. No matter where they are taken, no matter who or what has taken them. O'Shea is an FBI agent, and he is extremely suspicious of Rylee's success where the FBI often fails. That is, until he gets a good look at the things she deals with... Love love loved the main story, loved the supporting characters (a werewolf for a pet= awesome!). Cannot wait to revisit the cast in the next book. Really- consider this my wide eyed begging look asking "What's for Christmas dinner?" in hopes of a sequel that soon! Get the book, you'll see what I mean! One last thing- I really appreciate the time and effort put into the proofreading and editing of Shannon Mayer's books. Typos, punctuation, redundant turns of phrase all pull a reader out of the story- but I do understand that at times it is a price we readers pay when we get more reasonably priced indie authors. That is absolutely NOT the case here! Her books read smoothly- more like Kim Harrison or Darynda Jones or Lauren Hamilton. This makes them a fabulous first read, and on my short list of books I sit aside to reread again and savor. |
